FAQs

How do we work together?

Sessions are offered remotely via phone as I’m grateful to work with clients around the country. Prior to our first meeting, I will ask you to complete several health history forms and return to me at least two business days (48 business hours) before our first consultation so we can both be well-prepared for our time together. Our initial intake session will involve gathering a complete health history, I will have follow up questions and we will begin to formulate the plan. Depending upon the package you have selected, follow up sessions will range from 20 – 45 minutes each.

What is pantry purge? (local clients)

Making dietary changes can be overwhelming, making it difficult to know where to begin. Together we will look at the foods currently stocked in your pantry and refrigerator and discuss potential modifications that will better support you on your nutritional journey to meet your goals.

What is a grocery shopping tour?

Meeting you at the grocery store where you shop regularly, I join you on a shopping trip to make recommendations for food selections that are in alignment with your customized plan.

Do you provide meal plans?

While working together, I will provide recipes and meal suggestions. If you are looking for a weekly meal plan, I am happy to refer you to apps and books that provide meal plans that will fit with my nutritional recommendations based on your goals. While I love to cook, I recognize that not everyone enjoys cooking, nor has the time to cook. We will develop a plan that fits your lifestyle so that it’s sustainable. Depending upon individual needs, I may make recommendations for meal delivery service or some of my clients prefer to have an in-home chef cook their weekly meals once or twice a week. I have partnered with a fabulous chef who I coordinate with and communicate dietary recommendations, preferences and restrictions.

Is testing offered?

I have partnered with several companies to offer both functional testing as well as more routine blood work (e.g., comprehensive metabolic panel, vitamin D, lipids, etc). While these options are available, they are not required.

What is 'Functional Testing'?

While gathering a healthy history and learning about current symptoms are critical pieces of the puzzle, sometimes we need to dig a little deeper to get to the root cause of your ailments. Often these aren’t ordered as part of your regular physical or at primary care visits. Identifying food sensitivities, nutrient deficiencies, bacterial imbalance or pathogens in your gut may also provide additional insight to help us as we customize your plan.

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not work with insurance companies, but I would encourage you to call yours and/or your flexible spending/health savings account coordinator and ask if nutritional services are reimbursable.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. I’m happy to provide gift options for your loved ones. Please note these are non-refundable, but may be transferred, as long as they’re used by the indicated expiration date.

Do you offer Wellness Talks or Corporate Presentations?

cI love offering educational wellness talks, podcast interviews and corporate presentations. Please contact Sheila to discuss your needs and together we can customize a program for your particular audience.
